Presidential Community Engagement Office (South-West) Holds Team Retreat on Strategic Community Engagement and Public Communication

The Presidential Community Engagement Office (South-West) recently held a two-day team retreat aimed at strengthening internal coordination and refining strategies for effective community engagement across the region.

The retreat brought together members of the Office for a series of interactive sessions focused on key areas such as stakeholder mapping and community power structures; data and intelligence for community engagement; leadership and professional work culture; media messaging and public communication; government reporting and policy feedback; as well as political mobilisation and policy delivery.

The sessions were facilitated by a team of experienced professionals, including Hon. Owolabi Jamiu Falana, Dr. Joachim Adenusi, Mr. Gbenga Owolabi, Barr. Nduka, and Mr. Sunday Joseph, each of whom shared practical insights drawn from their respective areas of expertise. Their presentations highlighted the importance of understanding community influence structures, leveraging data to guide engagement strategies, strengthening workplace productivity, and communicating government initiatives in ways that resonate with everyday realities.

Participants also explored the role of consistent reporting, feedback mechanisms, and grassroots mobilisation in ensuring that policies are not only communicated effectively but also delivered in ways that make meaningful impact within communities.

The retreat also benefited from contributions by distinguished guests who shared their knowledge and experience, including Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA in Lagos; Hon. Damilola Sonayon-James, Deputy Women Leader of the APC in Lagos State; and Hon. Gbenga Abiola, National Coordinator of the Tinubu Media Force (TMF).

The retreat provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the evolving dynamics of community engagement and public communication while aligning on priorities that will guide the Office’s work in the months ahead.
